Our Safari Overview
On top of visiting the great national parks in the northern circuit, this package also sees you visiting the lake Natron which is the world’s most important flamingo breeding site as well as lake Eyasi to experience the cultures of Hadzabe and Datoga bushmen people. It is a great package full of activities for those who have the time.

Detailed Itienerary
Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
Pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport upon arrival and transfer to your accommodation in Arusha for pre-safari briefing dinner & overnight.
Meals included: Lunch and Dinner (as per arrival time). | Accommodation: Lost in Africa Arusha (Acco).
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park.
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, world famous for its tree climbing lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, flamingos, leopards and a magnificent bird life. The Park is set out on east Africa’s stunning Rift Valley landscape and has varied habitats: ranging from acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, hot springs, swamps and the Lake itself where all its animals can be found. Well also visit the hot water spring in Lake Manyara where the water flows through volcanic rock and comes out so hot that it burns to the touch (it is said that the water is hot enough to boil an Egg we dare you to bring one for trial). We’ll have a picnic lunch in lake Manyara and in the evening we’ll slowly exit the park and drive up the rift valley escarpment to our lodge nested in Karatu highlands

Day 3: Lake Natron (waterfall and Flamingos).
After breakfast we will transfer to Lake Natron which is perhaps the most important breeding site for flamingos in the world. It is also the only breeding site for these beautiful birds in East Africa. The reddish pink hue or even orange, (in the shallow parts) that the lake sometimes has because of the alkali salts and microorganisms living in it and filled with thousands of flamingos is a sight to see. On top of visiting the lake and learning about its eco system, you will also take a short hike and visit the beautiful Engarasero Waterfall and enjoy a swim in its cool waters.

Day 4: Lake Natron (Oldonyo Lengai Active volcano mountain hike).
For those that chose to climb Oldonyo Lengai, the climb will start today before midnight (so technically the night of day 3) so as to reach the top before sunrise. The aim is for the sunrise to catch you at the top. You will leave with your local mountain guide heading up the only active volcano mountain in East Africa Mt Oldonyo Lengai. The climb is a challenge in itself due to the terrain so be prepared. Even though climbing starts before midnight so we can be at the top before sunrise it can take longer at times to reach the top where you will arrive way past sunrise. After the hike, you will head back to the lodge for a meal and freshening up before leaving Natron for our lodge in the Ngorongoro highlands.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park.
Today we will transfer to the endless plains of the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro conservation area. Serengeti is home to millions of Wildlife including wildebeests, zebras and gazelles, over 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, cheetahs and many more. The Serengeti, a park that’s probably more famous than the country it’s in as its well known for its magnificent wildlife and eco system. We will get to witness its wonders and see Mother Nature at its wildest yet finest. Our game drive will begin shortly after being done with the formalities and entering the Serengeti gates. because we will have brought our picnic safari lunch boxes with us it will continue till late evening where will make our way to our Lodge for a hot mill and some rest.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park.
Enjoy the sunrise in Serengeti followed by spending the day in central Serengeti further exploring its magnificent eco-system and animals in their raw natural habitats. The central part of Serengeti is perfect for game viewing all year round because of its abundance of wildlife due to presence of food and water throughout the year. Comes evening, we might head back to our previous lodge or depending on the season enter into Ngorongoro conservation are for game driving around Ndutu and ultimately spend the night at out lodge on the crater Rim.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater.
After an early morning breakfast at our lodge, we prepare to descend into the crater for a fantastic day of game viewing. The crater is the 8th wonder of the world and a designated world heritage site, is a collapsed volcano home to more than 30,000 animals including all of Africa’s Big Five amongst which is the critically endangered black rhino. We will also have the optional opportunity of visiting a Maasai Boma (village) should you choose to see how this magnificent tribe lives in a primitive manner. After a fantastic day full of wildlife, you will ascend from the crater and transfer back our first Lodge for a night of relaxation and unwinding.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi (Hadzabe and Datoga)
Today will be a culture filled day. After breakfast we will drive to Lake Eyasi and visit the Hadzabe Bushmen and the Datoga, where we will dive into some cultural activities that involves learning how fascinating these tribes live. We will learn how they hunt using bows and arrows made from the willow trees and how they gather their food which consists of roots, honey and wild fruits. This tribe is very primitive and a visit to them is an unforgettable experience as they live in an untouched and scenically beautiful area. You will get to experience their culture first hand and perhaps participate in their activities. We’ve found that a whole day is enough to experience lake Eyasi and all it has to offer. In the evening we will make our way back to our previous lodge for an evening or reminiscing and unwinding.

Day 9: Tarangire National Park.
Morning transfer into Tarangire National Park. The Park is famed for having the highest concentration of elephants in the entire world that can be seen among its spectacular baobab trees that are suspected to live for hundreds of years. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which is the only source of water for the animals during dry season, hence attracting lots of wildlife. Its many river circuits game driving loops will give us a chance to see plenty of animals on the river banks in search of water. After experiencing the African wild at its best, you’ll be transferred to your lodge in Arusha for an overnight stay marking the end of your safari.

Day 10: Departure – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater.
After an early morning breakfast at our lodge, we prepare to descend into the crater for a fantastic day of game viewing. The crater is the 8th wonder of the world and a designated world heritage site, is a collapsed volcano home to more than 30,000 animals including all of Africa’s Big Five amongst which is the critically endangered black rhino. We will also have the optional opportunity of visiting a Maasai Boma (village) should you choose to see how this magnificent tribe lives in a primitive manner. After a fantastic day full of wildlife, you will ascend from the crater and transfer back our first Lodge for a night of relaxation and unwinding.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi (Hadzabe and Datoga)
Today will be a culture filled day. After breakfast we will drive to Lake Eyasi and visit the Hadzabe Bushmen and the Datoga, where we will dive into some cultural activities that involves learning how fascinating these tribes live. We will learn how they hunt using bows and arrows made from the willow trees and how they gather their food which consists of roots, honey and wild fruits. This tribe is very primitive and a visit to them is an unforgettable experience as they live in an untouched and scenically beautiful area. You will get to experience their culture first hand and perhaps participate in their activities. We’ve found that a whole day is enough to experience lake Eyasi and all it has to offer. In the evening we will make our way back to our previous lodge for an evening or reminiscing and unwinding.

Day 9: Tarangire National Park.
Morning transfer into Tarangire National Park. The Park is famed for having the highest concentration of elephants in the entire world that can be seen among its spectacular baobab trees that are suspected to live for hundreds of years. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which is the only source of water for the animals during dry season, hence attracting lots of wildlife. Its many river circuits game driving loops will give us a chance to see plenty of animals on the river banks in search of water. After experiencing the African wild at its best, you’ll be transferred to your lodge in Arusha for an overnight stay marking the end of your safari.

Day 10: Departure – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
Pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport upon arrival and transfer to your accommodation in Arusha for pre-safari briefing dinner & overnight.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park.
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, world famous for its tree climbing lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, flamingos, leopards and a magnificent bird life. The Park is set out on east Africa’s stunning Rift Valley landscape and has varied habitats: ranging from acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, hot springs, swamps and the Lake itself where all its animals can be found. Well also visit the hot water spring in Lake Manyara where the water flows through volcanic rock and comes out so hot that it burns to the touch (it is said that the water is hot enough to boil an Egg we dare you to bring one for trial). We’ll have a picnic lunch in lake Manyara and in the evening we’ll slowly exit the park and drive up the rift valley escarpment to our lodge nested in Karatu highlands

Day 3: Lake Natron (waterfall and Flamingos).
After breakfast we will transfer to Lake Natron which is perhaps the most important breeding site for flamingos in the world. It is also the only breeding site for these beautiful birds in East Africa. The reddish pink hue or even orange, (in the shallow parts) that the lake sometimes has because of the alkali salts and microorganisms living in it and filled with thousands of flamingos is a sight to see. On top of visiting the lake and learning about its eco system, you will also take a short hike and visit the beautiful Engarasero Waterfall and enjoy a swim in its cool waters.

Day 4: Lake Natron Oldonyo Lengai Active volcano mountain hike).
For those that chose to climb Oldonyo Lengai, the climb will start today before midnight (so technically the night of day 3) so as to reach the top before sunrise. The aim is for the sunrise to catch you at the top. You will leave with your local mountain guide heading up the only active volcano mountain in East Africa Mt Oldonyo Lengai. The climb is a challenge in itself due to the terrain so be prepared. Even though climbing starts before midnight so we can be at the top before sunrise it can take longer at times to reach the top where you will arrive way past sunrise. After the hike, you will head back to the lodge for a meal and freshening up before leaving Natron for our lodge in the Ngorongoro highlands.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park.
Today we will transfer to the endless plains of the Serengeti via the Ngorongoro conservation area. Serengeti is home to millions of Wildlife including wildebeests, zebras and gazelles, over 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, cheetahs and many more. The Serengeti, a park that’s probably more famous than the country it’s in as its well known for its magnificent wildlife and eco system. We will get to witness its wonders and see Mother Nature at its wildest yet finest. Our game drive will begin shortly after being done with the formalities and entering the Serengeti gates. because we will have brought our picnic safari lunch boxes with us it will continue till late evening where will make our way to our Lodge for a hot mill and some rest.
